Orders are typically processed within 5 business days of payment. As AAKS bags are handcrafted and often made to order, dispatch may take up to 4 additional days. During busy periods (April–July), processing may take up to 2 weeks.
Estimated delivery time is 3–6 working days once your order has been dispatched.

All orders are shipped via DHL Express using a tracked delivery service. You'll receive tracking information once your order has been dispatched.

All international deliveries require a signature upon delivery.

Returns Policy

We want you to love your order but if you don't, we're here to help.

Returns are accepted within the 7-day window from the date you receive your order.

Please note that due to the handmade nature of AAKS products, slight variations in colour, pattern and size are a natural characteristic of each bag and are not considered faults.

To be eligible for return, items must be:

Clean, unworn and unused
Returned in their original packaging
Returned within the 7-day return window

Please note:

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Customers are responsible for arranging tracked return shipping.

How to Request a Return:

Please contact [email protected] within 7 days of receiving your order. Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return and the reason for return. We will confirm eligibility based on AAKS' policy and provide the return instructions.

Damaged Items:

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos so we can resolve the issue promptly.

Refunds:

Once your return is received and approved by AAKS, the refund will be processed to your original payment method. Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to finalise the refund.

AAKS brings together Ghanaian craftsmanship and contemporary design to create handbags with story, soul and purpose.

Founded by Akosua Afriyie-Kumi, AAKS was born from a childhood appreciation for Ghana’s woven basket bags and a vision to reimagine them for modern life. Inspired by traditional weaving techniques and vibrant African colour palettes, she returned to Ghana to build a brand that celebrates heritage while creating beautifully contemporary accessories.

Every AAKS bag is handcrafted in Ghana using locally sourced raffia, a natural, biodegradable fibre that has been woven by skilled artisans for generations. Each collection explores a unique combination of colour, texture and silhouette, ensuring that no design feels ordinary. Rather than following trends, AAKS creates timeless pieces where craftsmanship and creativity take centre stage.

Ethical production sits at the heart of the brand. More than 80 percent of the people behind every AAKS creation are women, with fair wages and dignified employment forming the foundation of the business. Through initiatives such as Weaving for Change, AAKS also collaborates with refugee artisans in Burkina Faso, preserving traditional weaving techniques while creating sustainable livelihoods and new opportunities for communities.

Sustainability is woven into every stage of production. Raffia is sourced from local family farms, organic cotton is used wherever possible, and every effort is made to minimise waste by repurposing offcuts into smaller accessories. By releasing just one collection each year, AAKS embraces a slower approach to fashion, creating products designed to be treasured rather than replaced.
