JulieMay creates luxury lingerie with sensitive skin at its heart, bringing together thoughtful design, natural fabrics and uncompromising comfort.
Founded by a woman whose own experience with allergies shaped her understanding of clothing and the body, JulieMay grew from a deeply personal need. After years of living with allergic reactions and later being diagnosed with eosinophilic asthma, she began questioning the fabrics and finishes sitting closest to her skin every day. That experience became the starting point for lingerie designed differently.
After studying law in London, JulieMay’s founder went on to train in lingerie and swimwear design at London College of Fashion, learning the craft from pattern cutting through to construction. Her aim was to create lingerie that could offer the support and beauty women expect, while paying far greater attention to what actually comes into contact with sensitive skin.
At the heart of JulieMay are carefully selected natural materials. Its lingerie combines organic Pima cotton with Fairtrade Mulberry Peace Silk, chosen for their softness, breathability and luxurious feel against the skin. Details that can easily be overlooked are considered too, including wrapping elastics in cotton to help minimise direct contact and irritation. The result is lingerie created to feel as beautiful as it looks, without asking comfort to take second place.
This considered approach has earned JulieMay certification from Allergy UK. Its garments have also been independently tested by consultant dermatologist Dr Natalie Stone, with testing finding them free from azo dyes, low in formaldehyde and unlikely to irritate. The brand continues to develop its collections by listening directly to the women who wear them, with a community of around 10,000 women contributing through surveys and fittings.
Responsibility extends beyond the garments themselves. JulieMay works with natural materials and Fairtrade sourcing while supporting environmental and social initiatives, from reforestation and plastic recovery to projects helping communities access more efficient cooking solutions.
